These are Parth’s recommendations of courses for people who are in junior to mid level PM, design, and engineering roles (1-3 years of experience) and want to meaningfully level up.
🚀 Best Product Management Course - Improving your Product Sense by Shreyas Doshi
- Instructor: Shreyas Doshi is an experienced PM who has built products for Stripe, Twitter, Google, and Yahoo and has advised numerous others. He has built a considerable expertise on what product managers should be thinking about and executing. You can find a lot of writings on Twitter.
- Why it’s awesome - I get sketched out by most PM courses. Most advertise unrealistic and lofty goals like how to 10x user growth on your product. What I love about Shreyas’s course is that he narrows the focus. He goes deep into the ideation and evaluation of product ideas. He focuses a lot on the customer and how to understand their pains. It’s an expensive course but it’s well worth the money. This course is best for PMs who grew into the role and want formal PM education.
- Cost - $1800
- How it works - This is a cohort based course on Maven that runs once a month. Each cohort is a week long with a couple of live sessions.

🎨 Best Design Course: The Art of Visual Design by Elizabeth Lin
- Instructor - Elizabeth Lin is an experienced product designer and design educator. She was a senior product designer at Khan Academy and the founding designer at Primer. She got started in education by teaching Introduction to Illustrator at UC Berkeley and has since taught and mentored 100s of designers. In addition to the art of visual design, she has put out a ton of resources for designers including her Declassified Guide to Product Design.
- Why it’s awesome - For some reason, most design courses focus on everything except design. They tend to focus on “design process” and “strategic thinking”. Honestly, you could learn those things pretty easily on the job. Elizabeth focuses her course on how to make things beautiful by honing in on visual design and how people can craft their personal aesthetic.
- Cost - $700
- How it works - Elizabeth’s course is a combination of self paced materials and live events. You can join any time!

Before creating the self paced course of CS Primer, he built a one of a kind school - Bradfield where he leveled up over a thousand software engineers by teaching them the fundamental computer science knowledge their education often lacked.
- Why it’s awesome - More and more junior engineers get their start in bootcamps. And not a single coding bootcamp teaches computer science foundations in depth. You learn the deep stuff from computer architecture to distributed systems. Oz’s course has leveled up numerous people from junior to senior software engineers.
